Within the Bangalore fort built by Kempe Gowda, lies the Tipu Sultan’s Summer Palace. Haider Ali, father of Tipu Sultan, started the construction and Tipu Sultan completed it in 1791. It is a replica of the Daria Daulat Bagh in Shrirangapattana – Tipu Sultan endearingly called it Rashk-e-Jannat, meaning “Envy of Heaven”. The palace is under the maintenance of the Archaeological Survey of India.
