Devanahalli a town in Bangalore Rural district in the state of Karnataka in India. The town is located 30 kilometres to the north east of Bangalore. It is the site of the newly constructed Bengaluru International Airport. The famous ruler Tipu Sultan was born in Devanahalli in 1750 AD. Also present is the Devanahalli Fort, built in 1501 by Dyavegowda (before Tipu’s time).
